Ivermectin action
White or yellowish crystalline powder, soluble in methanol, esters and aromatic hydrocarbons, insoluble in water. Ivermectin, English Name: Ivermectin, is an antibiotic. It has repellent activity against nematodes, insects and mites. Injections and tablets made of ivermectin are mainly used to treat gastrointestinal nematodes, cattle maggot, striped maggot, sheep maggot, and swine and sheep scabies *.
In addition, ivermectin can also be used to treat parasitic nematodes (such as Ascaris, lung nematodes, etc.) in poultry. It can also be used as agricultural insecticide and acaricide to kill mites, diamondback moth, cabbage caterpillar, leafminer, wood louse, nematode and so on. The drug is characterized by its mild side effects, killing all kinds of parasites in and out of the body at the same time.
Chemical property
Ivermectin contains at least 80% of 22 23-dihydroavermectin B1a. And not more than 20% of the 22, 23-dihydroavermectin B1b. White like powder. [alpha]D+71.5 + 3 degrees (C=0.755, chloroform). UV maximum absorption (methanol):238245 nm (epsilon 2710030100). The solubility in water is about 4 g/ml. Easily soluble in methyl ethyl ketone, propylene glycol or polypropylene glycol, insoluble in saturated hydrocarbons, such as cyclohexane.

Indications and Usage

Macrolides deworming drug, antihelminthic. A Parasiticide for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites of cattle and swine.
Used for the prevention and treatment of animal nematodes, acariasis and other parasitic insect diseases.
For Cattle: Ivermectin treats and controls gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, haemonchusgrubs, sucking lice and mange mites.
For Swine: Ivermectin treats ascaris, scabies, gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, lice and mange mite.
