Chemical property
Pure products are white crystals with aromatic fragrance. M.p.17 ~ 18 C, vapor pressure 5.333 * 10-3Pa (40 C), relative density 1.226 (20 C), refractive index n20D1.5550. Soluble in acetone, benzene and other organic solvents, solubility in water is 11mg/L. It is stable in acidic and neutral media, and is easy to hydrolyze under alkaline conditions. Industrial products are yellow brown aromatic liquid with relative density of 1.21 to 1.23 (20 degrees Celsius).
Purpose
High efficiency and broad-spectrum organophosphorus insecticides, egg killing and acaric agents. It has contact killing and gastric toxic effects without internal absorption. In addition, it also has the characteristics of long residue period, high efficiency and good crop safety. It can be used to control rice, cotton, vegetables, citrus, fruit trees, tea, oil and other crops such as stem borer, Chilo suppressalis, Chilo suppressalis, leafhopper, Planthopper and other pests. For example, at the peak of egg hatching, spraying water 7.5-10.5 kg with 50% EC 15-30 mL/100 M2 was used. The same concentration and dosage can also be used to control rice planthopper, leafhopper, cotton bollworm, cabbage caterpillar, diamondback moth, aphid, cotton leafhopper, Spodoptera litura, thrips and so on.
It is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, low toxic non-endogenous organophosphorus insecticide, ovicide, acaricide, used to control a variety of pests on rice, cotton, vegetables, fruit trees, oilseeds and other crops.

Properties: | The pure substance is a colourless crystalline solid; the technical product is a reddish-yellow, oily liquid. Both have an aromatic odour. The melting point is 17-18°C; the density (d420) is 1.226; the refraction index (nD20) is 1.5550; the flash poin (cleveland) is 165-170°C (technical product). Neither the pure substance nor the technical product is corrosive. |
Uses: | Stability: It is stable in acid or neutral solutions; in alkali solutions hydrolysis occurs, at pH 8.0 the half-life is 12 days. It is thermally unstable; at room temperatures the shelf-life is several months; at 50°C it is degraded in 110 hours. Solar energy and aerobic conditions promote volatization and loss from exposed surfaces. Humidity probably does not directly affect decomposition,on moist grain over 80% of applied material remains after one year of storage. Decomposition of soil-applied phenthoate is due to microbial action with CO2 as the end product. |
