Physicochemical properties
The crude drug is colorless, odorless, non-absorbent, non-volatile, and its melting point is 87 C. The vapor pressure is < 0.13mPa (20 C). Solubility: 1.0mg/L water, 100g/L methanol and ethanol, 200g/L cyclohexane, 600g/L acetone, 1000g/L benzene, toluene and chloroform. It is stable and non corrosive under normal storage conditions and decomposes in alkaline solution.

Mechanism of action
Selective pre-and post-bud herbicides, used in paddy and upland fields, and soil treatment, act by contact and absorption of weed buds or seedlings with the herbicides. After seedling application, weeds are absorbed through the aboveground parts, and the herbicides accumulate in the vigorous growing parts after entering the plant, inhibiting the growth, resulting in the decay of weed tissue and death. In the light condition, the killing effect can be achieved, but the Hill reaction of photosynthesis is not affected. Weeds were susceptible to the herbicide from germination to 2-3 leaf stage. The effect of applying the herbicide at germination stage was the best, and decreased with the growth of weeds. After paddy field application, the medicinal liquid quickly diffuses on the surface of the water and is absorbed by the soil. It is not easy to move down, nor can it be absorbed by the roots.
For cotton, peanut, sugarcane and other soil treatment, should be sprayed on wet land or after the application of medicines irrigation once. It can control one-year-old weeds in paddy fields, such as barnyard barnyard grass, Echinacea japonica, Herba euphorbiae, Herba Artemisiae, Alisma orientalis, Sagittaria sagittata, Liriodendron chinensis, Cyperus sedge, Cyperus heterotypica, and Sunshine weed.
Usage method
When the paddy field was in the muddy state after soil preparation with water, the pesticides were applied by bottle-swinging method to keep the water layer of 3-5 cm. The seedlings were transplanted 1-2 days after application. The dosage of pesticide is 240 ~ 360g/hm2 in the southern area and 360 ~ 480g/hm2 in the northern area. It can not be drained within 48 hours after spraying, but if the water level increases after transplanting, it should be drained until the water layer 3 to 5 cm to avoid flooding the seedlings and affecting growth.

Toxicity Data

Oxadiazon is practically nontoxic to mammals based on studies.
LD50s of 3500 and >5, 000 mg/kg were reported in oral rat studies.
An LD50 of 5, 200 mg/kg was reported following dermal exposure in rats.
In rabbits, a dermal LD50 of >2, 000 mg/kg was reported.
