Toxicity

 

The rats received acute oral LD502405mg/kg and ester on acute oral LD50>5000mg/kg. Rabbit acute percutaneous LD50 was 1800mg/kg (>2000mg/kg). Rats were fed for 3 months. The daily dose was 20mg/kg. It has no irritation on the skin, moderate irritation to the eyes, and no sensitization to guinea pig skin. The effect of acid on chronic feeding test in rats was 80mg/kg daily. Animal tests showed no teratogenic, carcinogenic and mutagenic effects. Rainbow trout LC50 > 100mg / L (96h), goldfish 0.7mg / L (96h), water flea 100mg / L (48h), water flea > 0.5mg (ester) / L. Quail acute oral LD50>2000mg (ester) /L. Bee LC50>0.1mg/ (ester) / only (48h).

 

 

Chemical property

 

Pure products are white crystals without odors. M.p.232 ~ 233 C, vapor pressure 1.26 * 10-3Pa (25 C), pKa2.94. Soluble in acetone (1.6g/L), chloroform, dichloromethane, insoluble in water (91mg/L). Store at room temperature for 2 years. Its methyl ester is crystal. M.p.56^ ~ 57 C, vapor pressure 0.014 * 10-3Pa (25 C). Solubility at 20:00: dichloromethane 896g/L, acetone 867g/L, ethyl acetate 792g/L, toluene 735g/L, xylene 642g/L, methanol 469g/L, hexane 45g/L. The partition coefficient is 6140. The half-lives of hydrolysis reaction were 9.8 D (pH = 5), 17.5 D (pH = 7) and 10.2 D (pH = 9).

 

 

Purpose

 

Pyridoxy acetic acid herbicides. It has the function of internal absorption and has typical reaction of hormone type herbicides. After the use of seedlings, sensitive crops showed the reaction of typical hormone herbicides. It is suitable for use in cereal crops. It can be used to control broad-leaved weeds in wheat, barley, corn, grape and orchard, pasture and forest farm, such as Herba plecae, field flower, shepherd's purse, sturnard, amaranth and purslane. If it is used in winter wheat, it will be used in the post-winter green period, spring wheat in the 2-4 leaf period, weeds are basically out of line after the application of medicine, with 50% EC 7.5-10 mL/100 m2, water 4.5 kg, in the weed 2-4 leaf period. It can also be mixed with many other herbicides such as 2,4-drop, 2-methyl-4-chloro, isopron, chlorotoluron, Hecaoling and Caojing.

Application
Fluroxypyr is effective by post-emergence foliar application, controlling a range of economically important broad-leaved weeds (including Galium aparine and Kochia spp.) in all small grain crops, Rumex spp. and Urtica dioica in pastures, and Trifolium repens in amenity grassland. Directed applications are used against herbaceous and woody broad-leaved weeds in orchards (apple only) and plantation crops (rubber and oil palm), and broad-leaved brush spp. in conifer forests. Post-emergence, broadcast applications offluroxypyr in maize up to the 6-leaf stage of the crop are used for control of Calystegia sepium, Convolvulus arvensis and Solanum nigrum. The meptyl and 2-butoxy-1-methylethyl esters have similar activity, the advantage of the latter being the wider range of formulation options that are available. Applied at 180–400 g a.e./ha
