Toxicity
(1) mammalian toxicity: acute oral LD50 >5000 mg/kg in rats. Acute percutaneous LD50 > 2,000 mg/kg in rats showed no irritation to rabbit skin and eyes, and no sensitization to guinea pig skin. Rats inhaled LC50 (4 h) >6.7 mg/L. NOEL: rats were about 5 mg/kg (b.w.), and chronic NOAEL was 21.8 mg/kg (b.w.). ADI / RfD (JMPR) 0.04 mg/kg (b.w.) [2006], (EC) 0.04 mg/kg (b.w.) [2008], cRfD 0.218 mg/kg (b.w.) [2003], (FSC) 0.044 mg/kg (b.w.) [2006]. Others: no mutagenicity (Ames test, mice), teratogenesis (rats, rabbits) and carcinogenesis (dogs, rats, mice); no adverse effects on reproduction (rats).
(2) ecotoxicity: birds: quail LD50 >2000 mg/kg (b.w.). Fish: rainbow trout LC50 (96 h) is 2.7 mg/L. Daphnia: EC50 (48 h) is 5.33 mg/L. Algae: Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (ErC50) (96 h) is 3.75 mg/L. Other aquatic organisms: Chironomus riparius NOEC is 2 mg/L. Bee: NOEC (orally) is 166. G/ bee, (contact) is 200 g/ bee. Earthworm: Eisenia foetida LC50 >1000 mg/kg (dry soil).
(3) Environmental toxicity: Animals: Biphenyl ring first hydroxylation, followed by Glucosidation and sulfation reaction. Pyridamines are rapidly and extensively metabolize in the body and are excreted quickly through feces. Plants: biphenyl and pyridine rings are hydroxylated and undergo ring opening reactions. However, the parent compounds with no structural changes remain the major components of the residue. Soil/environment: There is moderate degradation behavior in soil, soil DT50 is 108 d~>1 a (laboratory, aerobic condition, 20), field DT50 is 28 d~ 200 D. Degradation is better in natural water / sediment systems.
