Chemical property


Pure product is white crystalline solid. M.p.165-166 C, relative density 1.22, vapor pressure 1 The solubilities of methanol, acetone, cyclohexanone, dichloromethane, hexane, xylene and water are 150g/L, 110g/L acetone, 180g/L cyclohexanone, 100g/L dichloromethane, 10g/L hexane, 60g/L xylene and 35mg/L water. The partition coefficient (octanol / water) is 1590. The pure product is stable within 6 months at 50 C, and the aqueous solution is stable above 30d at room temperature, which is more stable for UV light.






Azole plant growth regulator, endogenous gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitor. It has the function of inhibiting plant growth and shortening pitch. For example, it can improve the activity of IAA oxidase, reduce the level of endogenous IAA in rice seedlings, control the growth rate of rice seedlings, promote the division of leaves, make the leaves dark green, root system developed, reduce lodging, increase panicle yield. The average control rate is 30%, and the leaf rate is 50% to 100%.


The yield increased to 35%. For fruit trees such as peach, pear, citrus, apple, etc., it can control the shoots and protect the sleepy trees and dwarf the trees. The plants of chrysanthemum, geranium, poinsettia and some ornamental shrubs treated with Paclobutrazol have been adjusted to have more ornamental value. Cultivation of greenhouse vegetables such as tomato, rape and other strong seedlings has obvious effect.


To cultivate strong late rice seedlings, dry seedling water was put into the field at the single leaf and heart stage, and Paclobutrazol solution of 100-300 mg/L was sprayed evenly with 15kg/100m2. The rice seedlings were soaked for 36 hours with 100mg/L Paclobutrazol solution of 150kg for accelerating germination and sowing. The seedlings were 35 days old and the height of seedlings was no more than 25cm.


Usually in late autumn or spring, each fruit tree is injected with 300 mg/L of Paclobutrazol 500 mL, or irrigated evenly at the surface of the soil 5-10 cm around the crown radius of 1/2, with 15% WP 98 g/100 m2. Using 1.2 ~ 1.8g active ingredient /100m2 Paclobutrazol, winter wheat can shorten basal internode and increase stem. Paclobutrazol also has control effects on rice blast, cotton red rot, smut of cereals, rust of wheat and other crops, powdery mildew, etc. It can also be used as a fruit preservative. In addition, it can also inhibit certain mono and dicotyledonous weeds in a certain amount.

Biochemistry Inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis by inhibition of the conversion of ent-kaurene to ent-kaurenoic acid, and inhibits sterol biosynthesis by inhibition of demethylation; hence inhibits the rate of cell division.
Mode of action Plant growth regulator taken up into the xylem through the leaves, stems or roots, and translocated to growing sub-apical meristems. Produces more compact plants and enhances flowering and fruiting.
Uses Used on fruit trees to inhibit vegetative growth and to improve fruit set; on pot-grown ornamentals and flower crops (e.g. chrysanthemums, begonias, freesias, poinsettias and bulbs) to inhibit growth; on rice to increase tillering, reduce lodging and increase yield; on turf to retard growth; and on grass seed crops and oilseed rape to reduce height and prevent lodging. To be applied as a foliar spray, as a soil drench, or by trunk injection. Has some fungicidal activity against mildew and rusts. Rates of application vary widely, depending on area of use, application method, application timing, size of crop, and cultivation method.
