Chemical property

The original product is yellow crystalline and odorless. M.p.142 ~ 144 C. It is soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, ethanol, and insoluble in water. Under acidic conditions, it is unstable and non corrosive.




The first generation of anticoagulant rodenticide, similar to the mechanism of rodenticide, is toxic to rats, palatable and used to control domestic and wild rodents. Use 0.5% mother powder or 0.25% oil mixture to poison bait. If one part of 0.5% mother flour was added to 99 parts of flour and proper amount of water and dough, granular or lump poison bait was made. Rats were put in 1 to 3 piles in each room, 3 to 5 g in each pile, and wild rats were put in 1 pile at 50 m2, 10 g in each pile.


Attention should be paid to prevent accidental food poisoning or other poisoning accidents. After collection, dead rats must be buried deep.

Applications Chlorophacinone is an anticoagulant agent; it uncouples oxidative phosphorylation depressing hepatic synthesis of prothrombin and clotting factors VII, IX and X and, it causes direct damage to capillary permeability. The ultimate effect is widespread internal haemorrhage. In rodents, indandlones also cause neurologic and cardiopulmonary injuries which often lead to death before haemorrhage occurs.
