Enrofloxacin is a broad spectrum bactericidal drugs, have special effects on mycoplasma. White on escherichia coli, klebsiella bacillus coli, pseudomonas aeruginosa, salmonella, deformation, haemophilus, kill, pasteurella, streptococcus hemolytic pap coli, s. aureus bacteria, such as have antiseptic effect.

Matters needing attention

(1) the aqueous solution of enrofloxacin is easy to change and dissolve in light, and should be kept away from light.

(2) the drug resistant strains showed an increasing trend and should not be used for a long time at sub therapeutic doses.

(3) The antacids can inhibit the absorption of the product and avoid drinking at the same time.

Chemical property

It belongs to the third generation of quinolone antibiotics. It is a special veterinary drug. It is a kind of white or yellowish crystalline needle-like powder with melting point of 221-226 C. It is odorless and tasteless. Its salts, lactate and sodium salts are commonly used.

The product is soluble in acid or alkaline conditions, slightly soluble in dimethylformamide and chloroform, slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in water. The product has a long time of illumination and color. Storage at relatively high humidity is easy to absorb moisture and caking.

Veterinary fluoroquinolones broad-spectrum antibiotics

Enrofloxacin is the third generation of fluoroquinolone broad-spectrum antibiotics commonly used in veterinary clinic. It is the ethyl compound of ciprofloxacin. It is also called ethyl ciprofloxacin, ethyl ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin and enrofloxacin.
